A moving perspective

This was not the first, and definitely not the last time that I gave myself the opportunity to capture some nature and landscape from the perspective of a window seat on a train. The first experience took place in Peru on the way to see Machu Picchu. This time, I was on my way to Montreal, Canada departing from New York City. My carriage was Amtrak’s Adirondack train which allows for great views…with one catch: you have to pick a side. When beginning the journey, ample view of New York along the Hudson River can be experienced by sitting on the west side of the train, or on the left. I chose the right/east facing side of the train. My visual treats began after Albany, in upstate New York, and eventually Canada. It was a nice ride, with views of Lake Champlain and more. All I can say after this experience is that I will definitely create more images from train rides in the future, and part of me wants to buy a farm now:
